Mijo! enters Cancun on Horseback

With a passion for polo, Polo in Cancun had a mission to promote the national and international luxury sport of polo in tandem with the natural beauty of the Mayan Riviera.

Without a clear strategy of how to achieve their goals, Polo in Cancun turned to Mijo! Brands to revitalize their current image and to develop strategy, positioning and key messages for the brand.

The project also included positioning the El Rey Polo Club (the only regulation polo field in the Mexican Caribbean which hosts various annual tournaments) to give credibility to the sport, rising in popularity in Mexico, with major luxury brand sponsorship.

To achieve this, Mijo! Brands worked closely with the in-house team of Polo in Cancun to develop a brand activation strategy focused on the bilingual international luxury market. The 12 month project included the development of digital strategy and the creation of a new website, along with advertising and PR campaigns for their 2012-2013 tournament season.

Polo in Cancun also has sponsored various polo tournaments held in the Banderas Bay area and as part of the PR strategy, Mijo! Brands has covered press conferences, issued press releases and attended the exciting games to tell the story from a more personal perspective.

The emergence of Polo in Cancun has been of paramount importance to the Mayan Riviera as a destination for the sport of polo throughout Mexico.
