How to Apply the Design Thinking to Your Business

“Design Thinking” is a huge buzzword in business methodology right now as a way to find innovative client solutions.

How to Apply the Design Thinking to Your Business

Steve Jobs once said, “Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it’s this veneer —that the designers are handed this box and told, ‘Make it look good!’ That’s not what we think design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” And the process of “Design Thinking” is a huge buzzword in business methodology right now as a way to find innovative and satisfying solutions for clients.

The identifying characteristics of Design Thinking are:
• Finding simplicity in complexity
• Beauty as well as functionality
• Improving quality of experience
• Creating elegant solutions
• Serving the needs of people

When those principals are applied to any problem, not just a design project, the result is an opening playing field for innovation and creative solutions. In fact, Design Thinking can change not only the products that your company is producing for clients, but actually change the dynamic and leadership within your own brand.
